One of my all-time favorite grocery stores to shop at is Trader Joe’s. I love everything about the store from the Hawaiian theme and friendly employees to the unique, great quality products at amazing prices. What’s not to love. I’m one of those people who peruse the aisles looking for new items on the shelves and they are notorious for bringing in new items all the time.
Friends are always asking me to share my Trader Joe’s shopping list, so I figured I’d share it with all my readers. This list is especially curated for my toddler, but you will be happy to know it’s not only toddler approved but Mama approved as well.
These pictures specifically include the prices so you get an idea of what the items cost. Trader Joe’s skips the middle man which helps keep their prices low. Kids are expensive enough so any way this Mama can save money works for me.
Better quality product for a less expensive price is a double win in my book! In terms of taste and quality, you can rest assured that Trader Joe’s only sells food with NO artificial flavor, NO artificial preservatives, NO MSG and NO genetically modified ingredients.
Ok, So here you go…
Joe’s O’s (Breakfast / Snack)
What toddler doesn’t love a little yummy O?! And Mama surely loves their everyday low price of $1.99. Whether it’s a bowl of cereal in the morning or a dry snack in the afternoon, it is always stocked in our pantry.
Scallion Pancakes (Breakfast)
These are delicious for breakfast and so easy to make. Just warm them up in 2-3 minutes on the stove top and breakfast is ready for your little one.
PB&J Bar (Snack)
This is a great snack or even dessert item for your little one. Perfectly sized, soft and chewy oat bar with peanut butter and strawberry filling. I always keep one of these in my diaper bag in case my son gets hungry when I’m out.
Unsweetened Apple Sauce (Snack)
Price is great (even for the organic). Flavor is delicious. I usually buy the jar for when we’re at home and the portable cups for when we’re on the go. They also come in many different flavors.
Freeze dried Banana Slices (Snack)
The only ingredient is Banana. These are mess free and yummy for your little one. They’re great for a simple pick on snack or as an add on to the Joe’s O’s.
Veggie Sticks / Cinnamon Apple Snack Sticks (Snack)
I claim to buy these for my son but really, they’re for me too! Whether you buy the veggie sticks or the cinnamon apple, they are both so yummy. The veggies are a great alternative to potato chips.
Mini Oatmeal cookies (Snack / Treat)
They are the perfect size for a toddler. I give Daniel one or two as a ‘reward snack’ for something he did well that day. (Ie. potty training)
Hold The Cone (Treat)
These are amazing! If you’re looking to reduce your toddler’s sugar intake (from a regular size cone) while still giving them a special treat, then these are perfect for you. They are already prepared, mini cones.
Yogurt Squishers (snack / Treat)
What I like to do with these are make them into frozen yogurts. I put them in the freezer and give it to my son as if he’s getting ice cream but with less sugar and much healthier. They’re great for teething too.
Just Mango Slices (Snack)
This was my go-to item when my son started teething. Delicious and makes for a great snack. The only ingredient is Mango (I buy the one with no sugar added).
Individually wrapped Trek Mix (Snack)
These are great for a healthy snack. Just grab and go. Whether you are leaving a pack or two in your car for an emergency snack or throwing them in your kid’s lunchbox. It’s easy and delicious.
Hummus and Savory Thin Mini Crackers (Lunch / Snack)
This is a great duo for a quick-lunch or a healthier snack option. Danny especially loves the olive hummus which is Mama’s favorite too.
Riced Cauliflower Stir Fry (Lunch/ Dinner)
This is an item I don’t know how I lived without. For the nights when I’m in a rush to make dinner this is my go-to dish. Whether I add an egg or some grilled chicken, it is an easy dish to whip up.
Frozen Mac & Cheese (Lunch / Dinner)
Sometimes a quick frozen dinner is the only option, this is a great choice. Trader Joe’s offers so many different frozen ready to eat pasta dishes that are truly delicious.
Peanut Butter filled Pretzels (Snack)
I buy the no salt version and they are so yummy. The perfect amount of peanut butter in each pretzel with no extra salt. Great snack for kids.
Organic Whole Milk
Trader Joe’s is my go-to store for our daily organic milk. It’s the best price in town and the price here is comparable to a half gallon at other stores. Tastes delicious and so fresh!
Edamame (Snack / Side dish)
Daniel eats these by the spoonful. All I do is boil water, add the frozen edamame and cool it down. E-Z P-Z. Whether a snack or a side dish, it is healthy and delicious.
Trader Joe’s makes it possible to enjoy running your errand & promote healthier eating all while saving money.
For us Mama’s, it is a huge perk to have a kid friendly store to shop at. Each location has their own stuffed animal mascot. Your child can have fun looking for it in a different location daily. Our store has Rocky the Raccoon. Once your kid finds it, they will be given stickers or a lollipop upon checkout. Trader Joe’s also does not mind if you need to give them a snack while shopping. Feel free to peel back a banana or give them a fruit bar, whatever, to appease your child while shopping. I just leave the wrapper in the carriage and pay for it at the end.
