My family & I were recently invited by the US Family Guide to go see the Harlem Globetrotters at the Westchester County Center. One of my Husband’s favorite childhood memories was going to see them and knew it would be an exciting opportunity to pass down the experience to our son. It was more than just a basketball game and more than just a show. It’s the one and only Harlem Globetrotters in an all-new, larger-than-life world tour!
We went to the morning game on New Year’s Eve and it was such a fun way to spend the last day of the decade. We made it a parent-son bonding day with our three-year-old where we went to the game and got lunch afterwards. We realized we haven’t had a day with just the three of us in a while since his baby sister was born – so this was the perfect opportunity as we had coverage for the baby that day.
The second my Son sat in his seat; he watched the game so intently. He followed the ball and watched the players as they ran from each side of the court. He loved all the stunts they did including one of the players dancing on top of the hoop!!! Yes- you read that right! I emphasized that they are the professionals and we will not be trying that at home (hopefully!). There was a lot of interaction between the players and the audience which kept things very entertaining for both kids and adults. From dancing in our seats to my Son’s first attempt at doing the wave – super cute but way off cue.
None the less, the three of us had such a blast. It was a fun family outing and a great way to spend some quality time together. I promise, you’ll be on your feet, out of your seat, laughing until it hurts and loving every moment.
