Dressing while expecting
Pregnancy is the test of true style. You can either opt to hide your bump thru loose fitting clothes or embrace it which was what I chose to do. I feel most comfortable in form fitting silhouettes that have a lot of stretch to it. My recommendation to you would be to check out your current closet and search for some surprising belly friendly pieces you may already own.
Dresses are my favorite attire to wear during pregnancy because they do not make me feel confined. Off the shoulder dresses specifically are so flattering and very comfortable to wear. Whether for your baby shower, maternity shoot or just a date night with your love, dresses are always a great easy option! T-shirt dresses are also a great staple item to your maternity wardrobe because you can either dress them up with a fancy necklace or dress them down with a pair of converse. Either way super cute and comfy. Check out this T-shirt dress from Liz Lange for under $20.
Heels are definitely an accessory that make me feel ultra-sexy. They emphasize and elongate your legs while balancing out the baby bump. However, some women report that their feet swell during pregnancy. My recommendation would be to stay extremely hydrated and if your Doctor allows it, stay active! As hard as it may be to find the energy during pregnancy it is important both for you and the baby to workout (lightly). This will definitely help with swelling. If you can pull it off, throw on a pair of heels…It can help brighten your day!
Leggings are a must have for your maternity wardrobe! Whenever you need something quick and easy to throw on, they are your go-to. You can dress them up with a fancier top or dress them down with a cozy sweater. Anything goes and your belly will thank you.
