Had a pretty perfect night last night with my Mama! It’s been a while since we’ve gone out just the two of us. We both needed a fun night out so we headed to NYC to see Pretty Woman: The Musical. This is a must see for anyone looking for a fun Mom’s night out or even a date night with your partner. I enjoyed every minute of it while spending quality time with my Mom.
One of our favorite romantic comedy films from the 90’s was Pretty Woman so seeing the musical live on Broadway was like a dream come true! Watching all the scenes come to life before our eyes was so surreal. My Mom kept turning to me and saying, “Wow this is JUST like the movie, but better!” There were so many laugh out loud moments, dance in your seat songs and even some raunchy scenes but needless to say, it was a great time!
Director and choreographer, Jerry Mitchell, brought together an amazing cast to perform at the Nederlander Theatre in New York City. Samantha Barks who plays Vivian Ward, a Hollywood prostitute and Andy Karl, playing a wealthy businessman named Edward Lewis made the show. Their performances were remarkable. Vivian took a chance with Edward and ‘worked’ with him at several business & social events throughout their week-long stay together at the Beverly Wilshire. Watching their characters grow both independently and together was a thrilling experience.
The entire cast was remarkable. Orfeh was hysterical as Kit while Tommy Braco (Giulio) and Eric Anderson (Mr. Thompson) helped make sure everything was always perfect at the hotel in a comical way. I could not have asked for a better show to see with my Mom!
