Did you know you can experience world class performances of music, dance, theatre, family programming and more on the campus of Purchase College?
My family and I were recently invited to visit The Performing Arts Center (PAC) at Purchase College and we were certainly impressed. It is a multi-theatre complex located right on campus. Having so much art and culture right here in our own backyard in Westchester, NY is truly remarkable. Whether it’s a date night outing or a family fun day, there is a performance for everyone to enjoy!
We had the opportunity to see the world premiere of Rising Tide and were some of the first people ever to watch the amazing performance. Rising Tide is a brand-new work from the innovative Dutch dance company Arch 8, known for creating an interactive, acrobatic dance for kids (and adults) who can’t sit still. We certainly fall into that criteria with two kids. This innovative Dutch dance company uses poetry, play, partnering and live music to create awareness around activism and engagement. The performers were full of energy and made all of their viewers feel welcomed by making us a part of the show.
Prior to the show we had the opportunity to take a tour of the Performing Arts Center from the Director Seth Soloway himself! There is so much history and some interesting fun facts. For example, did you know that the design on the rug is a map of the theatres on premise!
